OUR INSPIRATION, PART 2

NOVEMBER 4TH, 2022

Imagine those historical, epic Samurai battles on the field. Throngs of warriors, covered in their hand crafted armor, many wearing helmets designed to intimidate their opponents. Each helmet was specifically designed with motifs and signature elements making them instantly recognizable on the battle field. The Kamon, or Mon, if mentioned casually, are the family crests that often were printed on the flags that headed into battle. Japan has a rich history of branding and icons. Color has always played a big part of Japanese visual vernacular.

These images became the inspiration of the piece called Road Warrior 2. The combination of the battle flags, inspiring helmet design, and a modern Japanese racing motorcycle, created an image of power, motion and history.
